Specials

Occasionally I have guitars that I can let go at prices below my regular commissioned guitar rates. One example is the guitars I build along with my students in my guitar building courses at Red Rocks College. All of these guitars are built entirely by me with the same attention to detail as my regular commissioned guitars. Since I am already getting paid to teach the class I am able to offer considerable discounts on these guitars. This is a great opportunity to get a fine handmade guitar at a factory price! Currently I have a classical and steel string available. You can see pictures of these guitars in the appropriate gallery. Below I have given a description and the specs for each guitar. For more information about any of these specials, please contact me and refer to the model you are interested in.

Quote from Brenda Yates - Proud new owner of this classical guitar.

“I am very happy with this guitar! It is very easy to play, and the sound is great. I took it to a technician who thought it was very well made, and a very nice guitar. He said that it was beautifully built and the craftsmanship was outstanding. In my opinion, I really like the action, I think it has a very nice sound, it is beautiful to look at, and the soundport is something I have come to appreciate, as I can hear things I could not hear before. I am very happy with it. Very Happy! Thank you.”

Steel String OM

The steel string guitar has a very big even sound among all strings. The volume and sustain of this guitar will blow away most larger bodied guitars with no problem. The trebles are loud and crisp and the bass is big and resonating. The guitar has plenty of sustain and plenty of clarity. It is a very “live” instrument. A fingerpicker’s dream!!Everything on it is solid wood. The back and sides are 3A Indian Rosewood. The top is 3A Sitka spruce. The neck is a 5 piece lamination with mahogany rosewood and flame maple. It is attached to the body with a bolt on mortise and tenon. The face of the peghead is Ebony and the back is quilted sapele. The guitar and fretboard are bound with flame maple. The end wedge is also flame maple. The top has black/white/black purfling lines. The bridge and fretboard are ebony. The nut and saddle are solid bone. The fretboard has a 14 inch radius with a 25.4 or 645.16 scale length. The rosette is herringbone with black/white/black purfling lines. The finish is a high gloss catalyezed urethane. It is extremely thin allowing the acoustic properties of the instrument to resonate but also providing a durable, protective finish for the guitar. Tuners are Gold finish Gotoh’s. This guitar, as well as all my instruments, are strung exclusively with D’Addario light tension strings. This guitar comes with a hardshell case with plush velour interior.
